This Version of MacOS cannot be installed on this computer.

If your Mac is in the stage where it has passed the support from Apple and you can no longer
update your MacOS, sometimes it is still possible to install a higher Mac OS, even if the Apple installers will not allow you to install it.
This will work best on higher spec machines with enough RAM and VRAM.

It can also be helpful to be able again to reach a certain website that require a higher Mac OS then
you are currently running.
To install an unsupported Mac OS on an older Mac, you can find all information and necessary tools

here:

he made available patches for installation of

  • MacOS Sierra,
  • MacOS High Sierra,
  • Mac OS Mojave and
  • MacOS Catalina.

These unsupported updates are included for the following computers;

  • Early-2008 or newer Mac Pro, iMac, or MacBook Pro
  • Late-2008 or newer MacBook Air or Aluminum Unibody MacBook:

Please note that on some machines there are some known incompatibilities:

Sierra 10.12
• Macs that use the Broadcom BCM4321 WiFi module will not have functional WiFi .
• The trackpad in the MacBook5,2 isn’t fully supported.

High Sierra 10.13
• The trackpad in the MacBook5,2 isn’t fully supported in High Sierra.

Mojave 10.14
• Currently, it is not possible to get full graphics acceleration when running Mojave on a
system with a Radeon HD 5xxx or 6xxx series GPU. Mojave will be almost UNUSABLE
without graphics acceleration. This includes the 15″ and 17″ MacBook Pro systems
(MacBookPro8,2 and 8,3). If you want to enable GPU acceleration on these machines,
you’ll need to disable the AMD GPU (This will work on MacBook Pro 8,2 and 8,3 systems
ONLY.
• The trackpad in the MacBook5,2 isn’t fully supported in Mojave.
• Built-in iSight cameras do not work correctly on some machines, when installing,
expect your iSight camera to be non-functional.

Catalina 10.15
• Currently, it is not possible to achieve full graphics acceleration under Catalina on any
machines that use a Radeon HD 5xxx or 6xxx series GPU. Running Catalina without full
graphics acceleration will result in extremely poor system performance.
